                                          Study Plan and Bylaws

             I.  Study Plan at a Glance


           In the six years plan: The educational program is divided into three phases. Phase I represent

           the first three semesters where the student will study foundations of Medicine (52 credit hours).
           During  these  foundations,  the  student  will  study  some  ordinary  discipline-based  courses,

           innovative  discipline-based  courses,  modern  trends  in  biostatistics,  informatics  and  research
           methodology.  Clinical  skills,  ethical  domain  and  professionalism  courses  are  continuous

           throughout the study years in a step ladder pattern of skill escalation. Phase II represent semesters

           from 4-7, where the student will study the transition from health to disease (69 credit hours). He
           will study in an integrated system based modular pattern. This phase includes clinical skills, ethical

           domain and professionalism courses are continued in advanced manner to ensure training on all
           the practical, communication and professional skills that are needed from medical student. At the

           end of third year, there is an obligatory global exam in all basic biomedical sciences (TLE1).
           Phase III is the core and advanced clerkship years from semester 8-12. It is distributed over three

           years  (88  credit  hours).  At  the  middle  of  last  year  of  advanced  clerkships,  there  is  another

           obligatory global exam in all clinical sciences (TLE2).




            In the five years plan: The educational program is divided into three phases. Phase I represent

           innovative  discipline-based  courses,  modern  trends  in  biostatistics,  informatics  and  research
           methodology.  Clinical  skills,  ethical  domain  and  professionalism  courses  are  continuous

           throughout the study years in a step ladder pattern of skill escalation. Phase II represent semesters

           from 4-6, where the student will study the transition from health to disease (62 credit hours). He
           will study in an integrated system based modular pattern. This phase includes clinical skills, ethical

           domain and professionalism courses are continued in advanced manner to ensure training on all
           the practical, communication and professional skills that are needed from medical student. At the

           end of third year, there is an obligatory global exam in all basic biomedical sciences  (TLE1).

           Phase III is the core and advanced clerkship years from semester 7-10. It is distributed over two
           years (81 credit hours). At the end of last year of advanced clerkships, there is another obligatory

           global exam in all clinical sciences (TLE2).
