IV. Domain 4 (Area 4) Interpersonal and Communication Skills (IC)

General Competency statement: Graduates must be able to demonstrate interpersonal

and communication skills that result in effective information exchange and teaming with
patients, their patients families, and professional associates.

Key Competencies
1: Create and sustain an effective communication with patients and their relatives.

2: Create effective communication to patients and their relatives.
3: Work and communicate effectively with others.

V. Domain 5 (Area 5) Professionalism (PR)
General Competency statement: Graduates must demonstrate a commitment to carrying

out professional responsibilities, adherence to ethical principles, and sensitivity to a
diverse patient population.

Key Competencies
1: Cope with career demands with suitable balance with personal and family life.

2: Respect and protect patients’ rights with advocacy for the interests of patients and

society.
3: Adhere to principles of medical ethics and laws.

4: Deal with others with honesty, integrity, and respect.

VI. Domain 6 (Area 6) Systems-Based Practice (SB)

General Competency statement: Graduates must demonstrate an awareness of and
responsiveness to the larger context and system of health care and the ability to

effectively call on system resources to provide care that is of optimal value.
Key Competencies

1: Recognize different health care systems and their logistics.

2: Advocate for quality patient care with respecting medico-legal issues.
3: Coordinate health care and community services with diversity of patients.
