Vice Dean’s Message
Dear Students “Doctors of the future”
I am pleased to welcome you at the beginning of the new academic year and you
are on the threshold of realizing your dream. Because you are the future of Egypt, you
deserve the best.
The keenness of the Faculty of Medicine, Tanta University, headed by my brother
and my friend, Prof. Dr. Amgad Farhat, Dean of the Faculty, to be at the forefront of
Egyptian colleges that adopt the latest recognized medical education systems globally is a
matter of pride. It is an honor for Tanta to be the first Egyptian college to apply for
bachelor's degrees in five years in addition to two years of training through this
distinguished program.
The International Competency Based Program for the granting of Bachelor of
Medicine and Surgery based on the system of credit hours is the product of hard work
and great effort of working groups formed by Your Excellency faculty members over the
past years who have taken upon themselves to upgrade the level of graduate to offer a
doctor competent to the new era, has the tools of self-learning, the culture of continuous
learning, and a high competitive edge in the local and international health care market in
order to improve the health service.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to my fellow faculty
members and their co-worker members, headed by Prof. Dr. Magdy Balha, the Academic
Coordinator of the Program, who bear this responsibility.
In conclusion, we ask God to crown our efforts to serve our students and our
patients with success.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed AS Shakal
Vice dean of Education and Students’ Affairs
