                   Introduction


                   Definitions

                   The  Faculty  of  Medicine,  Tanta  University  is  referred  to  in  this  document  as  “the

                   College”

                   The term Faculty will refer to the academic staff. Teaching assistants (TAs) refer to the

                   assistant lecturers and demonstrators. Staff will refer to the para medical and technical
                   members. Employees refer to the administrative members.


                   Purpose of the Code

                   The  purpose  of  this  Code  of  Conduct  is  to  assist  you  to  know  and  understand  the
                   minimum standards of the conduct that are expected from a medical student and future

                   physician. This reflects the basic requirements of professionalism, integrity and courtesy

                   needed to ensure that you get a quality education, support, teamwork, and that a pleasant
                   and safe teaching and learning environment exists for all staff and students.

                   Coverage


                   The Code applies to all students of the College. This Code forms part of your studying,
                   activity, work and life.


                   Principles

                   The Code of Conduct establishes three principles, which deserve to be considered:

                    1)  You should fulfil your lawful obligations to the College with professionalism and

                        integrity.

                    2)  You  should  perform  your  official  duties  and  studies  honestly,  and  efficiently,

                        respecting the rights of others, the College community and your Faculty member.

                    3)  You should not bring your studying into disrepute through your activities, inside or

                        outside College.  Activities outside the school are not likely to be acceptable if they:

                         Damage the standing or reputation of the College;


                         Interfere with the proper performance of your duties;
