II. Monitoring
a. Lecture halls and all academic teaching venues are monitored through
triangulation protocol. Cameras for video recording, teacher feedback and
auditing. In all cases where attendance is reported to be unsatisfactory or
associated with unprofessional behavior, a written warning will be issued to the
relevant class group and the class representatives will be alerted.
b. Teachers and instructors will monitor the personal attendance. The program will
endorse other monitoring techniques later on according to the circumstances.
Electronic attendance monitoring system will be brought into operation with the
use of students' swipe cards or fingerprints at the relevant venues.
c. If absence exceeds the bylaws limits, instructors and teachers will report it to the
course coordinators to allow for alert letters in a suitable time. The course
coordinator will notify the semester coordinators (academic advisors) who will
issue the letter after studying the case.
d. If students have persistent unexcused absences, individual students will be
contacted on their written contact details and will be required to discuss their
attendance record with the course coordinator.
e. If non-attendance was also associated with break of the conduct of the session as
in cases of absence of the student who has assignment or certain role in the small
group sessions, this will be managed in two ways, the first is attendance issue and
the second is break of professional conduct.
f. If a student is detected as swiping in classmates or participating in 'swipe and go'
practices, (or come to register the attendance and go) they will be referred
immediately to the semester coordinator where its issue will be discussed with
professional line and the curriculum coordinator.
